Have You Ever Met One?

Had I not been stunned into incredulous silence by this question the interviewer in all seriousness asked Professor Heslop in the Close Up programme - I could have died laughing!

Are we such a rare lot? I believe not. We are to be found in all walks of life. In secondary schools and universities, in the trades and professions, in medicine, science and politics, the legal profession... the Church? More and more people of compassion are flocking to the anti-vivisection standard. Indeed every person who believes in justice and decency belongs in our ranks.

Have you ever met one? implies that we are cranks, peculiar, or, as one member put it, have two heads!

The question revealed the abysmal ignorance held by the media of this vital issue that is rocking governments and altering the course of history.

In the bitter struggle to bring liberation to the voiceless innocents there is little to amuse us... Have you ever met one? brought us a moment of light relief... and the expression is with us to stay.
