In Argentina Judge says... release dogs and... "close" vivisection laboratory! In March 1990 Martha Guiterrez, President of the Argentina Association for the Defence of Animal Rights visited the animal experimental unit of the Hospital Escuela de Clinicas Jose San Martin in Buenos Aires. There she found thirteen dogs which had been living for five years in humid 80 centimetre by one metre cages. With little of no food, lying in their own excrement, isolated from all contact except that of their tormentors... they awaited their fate. Guiterrez, and ADDA's legal and medical advisers took the case to court. Judge Omar Faciuto not only verified in person the appalling conditions of the place and immediately ordered it closed, but accompanied Guiterrez and supporters in person, stayed by the cages until all the dogs were removed, then proceeded to stick the legal papers across the door of each cage stating that it had been closed by official order.
Martha Guiterrez (against wall) watches as Judge Faciuto (far left) supervises release of dogs and closes the laboratory. Imagine: Eyes closed you sit back in the warm luxury of the hairdresser's chair awaiting the pampering of a perm. Suddenly your friendly hairdressser falls upon you. Ties you to the chair. Tight. You can't move. You struggle. She forces your mouth open. Shoves the "extra body perm" not on your hair but down your throat. The terror. Pain. Torture. Your insides crumble, dissolve, disintegrate. You vomit. Bleed. Writhe. Eyes closing for the last time. Your last sight in this world. Through a haze of pain the beautiful model smiling down on you from the glossy L'Oreal advertisement on the wall of the salon. Imagine: 9am. Your sweet-smiling, soft-voiced beautician/masseur. Binds your eyes with tape. Ties you face down on the table. Tight. You struggle. Scream. She smiles. Is beautiful. She prepares you, as a cook prepares cakes for the oven. First a layer of sunscreen over your body. Next she wraps you from head to toe in tinfoil. Then she places you under a sun simulation machine and fries you alive. 1pm. Still taped to the oven tray your tortured body is thrown to the trash. L'Oreal brands include: |

The World Wildlife Fund ...is funding toxicology experiments in which ducklings, kestrels, quail, zebra finches, pigeons and fish are intentionally poisoned to be used as "bioindicators" of toxic chemicals in the environment.
