The Labour Government has... ignored our two petitions... taken to it through the bureaucratic system... it has... ignored demonstrations, rallies, and marches to Parliament such as this... year after year... it has left campaigners for abolition in New Zealand with nowhere to take their case... except outside the law.
In Italy, Parliamentarians, doctors and scientists have recently established a Foundation to Abolish Animal Experiments and that Foundation is currently guiding a Bill through the Parliamentary legislative process seeking abolition of vivisection on the grounds that it is wrong methodology. In Switzerland, on the first of December nineteen hundred and eightyfive, a third of the population voted for vivisection to be abolished. A second Petition, organised by the International League of Doctors Against Vivisection is in the final stage of preparation. On presentation of one hundred thousand signatures this Petition will again go to the vote of the people. In Canada, from coast to coast across the continent a petition seeking abolition of vivisection on the grounds of medical fraud gathers momentum as hundreds of thousands of petitioners attempt to establish Canada as the first country in the world to abolish vivisection. Denmark is recognised around the world for its enlightened social attitudes is promoting an international petition to abolish vivisection... And there are growing moves against vivisection in both the United States of America and Japan. |

That as the young people become enlightened about the fraud of vivisection, the few politicians who dare express original opinions on the subject are bigoted, brainwashed and light-years behind the times. Are you aware? That in persistently refusing to register supporting submissions to this Petition your Primary Production Committee is in effect making public announcement that legal channels being blocked, those campaigning against vivisection have nowhere to take their case... execpt outside the law. and that the consequences arising, whatever form they take, must be laid fairly and squarely where they belong... ...And that is on Parliament!
