NZAVS Grand charity concert - a resounding success

Most seats in the concert chamber of the Wellington Town Hall were filled and many people said how much they enjoyed the occasion.

It is impossible to express individual acknowledgements to either the artists who were magnificent - or to those who worked so hard behind the scenes. We are grateful to Mr Auotn Low, the producer, whose skill and expertise ensured a fine evening's entertainment.

NZAVS wishes to thank "Comvita" (http://www.comvita.com/) Cruelty Free Products for financing concert advertising.

NZAVS Christmas party

In spite of blinding rain and flood conditions which kept many people at home about 40 people gathered at Crossways on 11 December 1982 for NZAVS Christmas Party.

Graham Martin, President, Wellington Theosophical Society (http://www.theosociety.org) compered the afternoon. Bette Overell expressed thanks to members for their hard work during a most successful year.

After a luscious afternoon tea Tony Parry and his colleagues gave a rousing display of Morris dancing. Helen Pollock, President Wellington Branch of NZ Vegetarian Society (http://vegsoc.wellington.net.nz/veg_home.htm) displayed a cruelty-free Christmas feast. She spoke about the various dishes and there was much tasting and taking away of recipes.
