Her Gracious Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second Dines with the Vivisectors

At odds with her predecessor Queen Victoria's life-long stand against vivisection, HM Queen Elizabeth the Second upholds and encourages this vile and wicked industry. On 20 April 1995, at Stevenage in the South of England she opened the extended premises of Glaxo/Wellcome, the largest vivisection laboratories in the UK. Wearing NZAVS Vivisection is Scientific Fraud tabard, leading shouts of Animal Research Takes Lives - Humans and Animals Both Suffer, and Long Live the Animal Liberation Front, activist Cynthia O'Neill organised a vociferous reception of Her Majesty with banners placed in front of the Royal car.

Whilst the Queen set her seal of approval of animal torture by dining with the vivisectors, brave clergyman, Father J. Thompson, pulling no punches, conducted a service for "the animals and birds tortured to death by Glaxo" and a two minute silence for Keith Mann, Robin Webb and other prisoners of animal liberation. Hearing the events on cassette tape was a moving experience.

"Vivisection will be stopped when the public wants it stopped"... Cynthia O'Neill. (Your editor agrees. Apathy, not only of the public, but of avs is largely responsible for vivisection's continuance and expansion.)
