| Animal Welfare or Animal Hellfare? | ||
| Animal Welfare... (Continued from previous page). " 'If I still believed in the usefulness of animal experiments I would say: Let's do them. However, I've come to realize that they are not only useless but moreover highly damaging for medical science, owing to their unreliable results. So if I advocate the abolition of vivisection, it is not because I am concerned about animal suffering, but out of my concern for human health.' Professor Dr Pietro Croce who wrote those words (which can be found in the Introduction of NZAVS book Animal Research Takes Lives - Humans and Animals Both Suffer) is past President of the International League of Doctors Against Vivisection. Founded in 1978 this fast growing number of medical professionals, active in many countries, springs from all fields of science and medicine. Supported by hundreds of thousands of laypersons the movement represents a dire threat to the medical and farming establishments. It seeks the abolition of animal experiments because of the grave danger 'animal research' is to human and animal health, and not because of concern for 'animal welfare'. In short, the professional, unlike the animal rights', opposition to vivisection, accents on the bogus method and not the ethic, a fact that is conveniently ignored by the medical, pharmaceutical, chemical and farming communities. The endless time-consuming smokescreen of the phoney 'animal welfare' debate routinely carried out as camouflage by those who fight to protect their vested interests holds not the slightest threat to the medical and farming establishments - which cater for short-term profits of the few at the expense of long-term disastrous and catastrophic damage to the health and environment of the majority. Naive, until Hans Ruesch rocked the world with his explosive Slaughter of the Innocent in 1979 I was unaware that vivisection in all its facets is a hoax, a gigantic international industry in its own right. I was oblivious to the lucrative medical fraud and the fortunes ensuing. My work led me into an area the business of which is never reported in the popular press. I entered a world I didn't know existed. Through my initial simplistic philanthropic approach I stumbled across a conspiracy terrifying beyond belief. (Continued on next page.) | ||
