| A NOTE FROM OUR NATIONAL SECRETARY | ||
|
First an apology for the delay in the publication of this first newsletter since our relaunch. We have been busy moving, establishing an Internet presence and many other activities besides. Thanks to the generous legacy from Isla Dight we have now moved into Dight House, our Disraeli Street, Christchurch office. Having these premises gives the Society a solid footing as we continue our fight to abolish vivisection. A big thank-you to Bette and John Overell for transporting furniture and equipment down from Wellington. Also a big thank-you to Bette for her work in administering the transition of the Society's base from Wellington to Christchurch, without her effort the relaunch of NZAVS would not have been possible. Following the move our first effort was to get the Society's World Wide Web site on-line. It can now be viewed at: Our current campaign is to continue promoting Animal Research Takes Lives - Humans and Animals Both Suffer. Some of you may have already heard the advertisements on Radio Pacific that Bette organised. We will be holding stalls featuring the book during the summer... It is important that we follow up the advertising work with the chance for the public to view the book for themselves... Phil Clayton |
