Leigh's daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis, is so happy at losing her "queen of the scream" films tag with her Trading Places success, that she is now refusing all horror-film offers and is out to promote her new, sexier image.

But it was no acting performance she gave at the recent Mobilization for Animals rally when she spoke up for animals' rights and moved the crowd to tears. Curtis then burst into tears herself. Dallas regular Morgan Brittany also got a rousing reception, although she did not break down. A whole bevy of top stars are now getting into the act. One of the biggest celebrity turn-outs recently was for Gretchen Wyler's campaign to stop needless animal research practices. Wyler has emerged the leader in animal causes, along with Earl Holliman, Bob Barker, Rachel Ward, Betty White, Liza Minelli, Gloria De Haven, Cindy Williams, Gloria Grey, Bea Arthur and Loni Anderson.
