Amendment to Animal Protection Act (1960)

"It will be like asking the barber whether one needs a haircut..."

... said Opposition MP, Mr Maxwell (Waitakere) of the Amendment to the NZ Animal Protection Act 1960 - as the Bill slid into law in the early hours of 15 December 1983.

... as Parliamentarians slumber ...

On every continent the movement is mobilising, manoeuvring, sharpening claws:

International networks are being strengthened, undergrounds being established, fearless young commandos being trained... and as sure as women got the vote and children no longer go down mines or up the chimneys... so animals will be liberated from being used as tools of research..
