Make a Stand for Animals this 24th - meta
Animals used in laboratories cannot speak for themselves. That’s why we speak for them.
World Day for Animals in Laboratories on 24 April is a moment to ask why animals are still routinely used in research, even though humane, human‑relevant alternatives already exist.
Every year in New Zealand, animals are harmed in laboratory experiments, yet more than 90% of drugs that succeed in animals fail in people. This continues because research systems haven’t kept pace with scientific progress.
This World Day for Animals in Laboratories, we’re asking supporters to give $24 to help move New Zealand beyond animal testing.
Stand with animals and donate $24 for the 24th.
NZAVS has already helped secure nationwide bans on cosmetic testing and legal highs testing on animals. Our focus now is system‑level change: strengthening accountability and investing in animal‑free science through initiatives such as the W.E. Bradshaw Grant.
